At the fourth Annual Meeting and Election of Officers

Officers elected for 1956-1957 were:

• • Patron: Mr J. H. Skerman
  • President: Mr A. Lockwood (acting);
  • Vice President: Mr A. Bergann
  • Secretary: Mr R.C. Burnett
  • Treasurer: Mrs Humphries
  • Auditor: Mr W. Petersen.

It was moved by Mrs Humphries and seconded by R. Burnett that the subscriptions remain at 5/- per year.

Presidents Trophy: The President presented his trophy for competition on points system for period May 3 – 20 September inclusive. The winner being Mrs W Bergann 73 points, Mrs R. Burnett 33, Mrs V. Wadell 30, Mrs Ison 24.

Despite a difficult growing season, exhibits by Maleny flower gardeners were particularly bountiful and of magnificent blooms judging by the display at the Floral fair sponsored by the Maleny and District Horticultural Society on Friday last. This Annual function benefited the Maleny Ambulance with £107/-/-.

November 1956

The Floral Carpet design was agreed upon by all, as the one drawn up for the last year’s show, which was cancelled owing to bad weather.
No photographic evidence of the carpet has been discovered.
