Garden 1 – Private Garden

From the Garden Owners: We moved to the property in May of 2020, Covid year. There was no garden to speak of apart from some very established trees, some of which we trimmed and some we removed. I had pretty much a blank canvas.
Without a real plan of any sort, and with a lot of time and effort, with a whole lot of little plants, and cuttings from neighbours, in the six years we have created what is here today. There is still no plan, but I like that way, it is very much ‘if something survives, it stays’!
So my garden is what you can do when you really don’t know what you are doing!?!?

Step back in time at Pattemore House, a State Heritage listed farmhouse and garden. Explore a garden that began its life around 1908 and evolved over the ensuing decades.
After falling into disrepair, the gardens have been lovingly restored by a group of dedicated volunteers who have managed the property since 2008.
See below how they have breathed new life into the house and garden.

The Gatekeepers:

A vital part of the Spring Fair are the volunteers who take on the myriad of roles to get the show on the road and to keep it running smoothly all day long. Many are unseen, working before, during and after. Out in the field you find the gatekeepers. They collect your tickets at each garden gate and answer your questions, liaising with the garden owners.
