Life Member – Mrs Owen Thomas
Mrs Thomas was an accomplished Floral Artist acknowledged for many years designing, and in charge of, making the Floral Carpet. She won trophies in the Society for Floral design. It is thought that Edna may have instigated the first Camelia logo for the Maleny Garden Club.
Mrs Thomas was first mentioned in the Minutes of January 1957 arranging a window box. She was a flower judge from 1957 until the last mention in 1971. Made wreath for Anzac Day 1963, ’64. First noted as being in charge of the carpet ‘again’ in October 1963, then continuously through 1964, ’65, ’66, ’67, 68, 69 and ’70.
Elected as Vice President in 1971, last mentioned in minutes 1976 in charge of the plant stall at the Autumn Fair.
