From the Garden Owners: Purchased in 1983, the only tree on the property was the giant White Beech. We spent many weekends planting, watering tube stock and weeding, finally moving into our new house on Christmas Eve 1994.
Roses are our first love and we currently have approximately 178 roses in the garden with the aim to achieve 200. Current rose varieties include Gallipoli, Papa Meilland, The Children’s Rose. Mr. Lincoln, Blue Moon, Magenta, Golden Anniversary, Oranges and Lemons and many more. A colourful display when all in full bloom.
The garden has become a great hobby and we enjoy maintaining our garden. Please enjoy a casual stroll around and view the roses which hopefully will be in full bloom.

From the Garden Owners: Just over 3000sq metres, the block was part or an old dairy subdivided into smaller blocks. Purchased ten years ago, the cow paddock had two trees, one being the large Pine in the far comer, the other a Coral Tree which had to go for the house site. Weeds took up most of the block back then. Landscaping and planting became the main focus with the Murrayas along the fence line. Without town water we are reliant on rainfall. Being known as “Rainy Maleny” is good, but not always the case. Over in the far corner a mixture of Maples, Red Cedars, Flame Trees, Silky Oaks and Tree Ferns blend with our neighbours’ semi rainforest. At the front of the house is a newly planted area with small Flame Trees over over flowering Daisies. A Japanese Garden is being developed around the front cloor and will be a prominent feature as it grows in the ensuing years.

From the Garden Owner:
From trees, scrub and weeds on 1.6 acres, l carved out the present garden. It commenced nearly eight years ago with a plan based on functionality and order, yet, with an ambiance of peace and serenity.
The formal hedges provide a framework that incorporates mostly subtropical gardens, an orchard of lemon, orange and mandarin trees, plus a forest walk.
This garden has matured over the last few years along with the expansion of the house. Small ponds were placed to further enhance the tropical landscape between the two buildings.
Relax and enjoy the various aspects of the garden as you meander through the pathways.
The Gatekeepers:

A vital part of the Spring Fair are the volunteers who take on the myriad of roles to get the show on the road and to keep it running smoothly all day long. Many are unseen, working before, during and after. Out in the field you find the gatekeepers. They collect your tickets at each garden gate and answer your questions, liaising with the garden owners.
